Q: Who do you most look up to and why?
A: Without a doubt, my father. He is quite a good father in every way. He is loving, caring, kind, interested in what interests others, moral, principled, reliable and basically fits almost any other positive quality I could think of. My father quoted a specific saying from Mahatma Gandhi quite often throughout my childhood and young adult years: "Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it." That quote has stuck with me ever since and I try my best to live by it.
Q: What is your favorite method of self-care for your own mental wellbeing?
A: Keeping myself physically active with CrossFit, enjoying great international food such as Brazilian cheese or a Hungarian goulash. My wife and I also love traveling together and try to go as often as we can.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: In my spare time I enjoy playing soccer and hiking with my wife. I also enjoy surfing whenever I get the chance to travel anywhere tropical, and studying languages with my wife. Since I am Brazilian and my wife is Russian, we try our best to immerse ourselves in each other's culture whenever we can, which can be a very interesting experience sometimes.
Q: Why did you decide to join HopeWay's team?
A: Because it is quite refreshing to work with a team that is so passionate and committed to addressing common mental health stigmas in our community with a holistic care approach.
